Everything you need to know about K-Tip extensions, care, and booking.

K-Tip Extensions

K-Tip extensions use individual strands of hair attached to small sections of your natural hair using a keratin-based bond. The bond is heated, molded around your hair, and sets firm. This creates the most natural-looking, invisible result because each strand moves independently — just like your own hair.

Between maintenance appointments, keratin bonds typically last 3 to 6 months, depending on how fast your hair grows. The extension hair itself can be reused through multiple maintenance cycles — often 6 to 12 months or longer with proper care.

Yes — keratin bonds are actually the safest method for fine hair. Because each bond is small and individual, the weight is distributed evenly across many points instead of concentrated in a few. I use smaller bonds and strategic placement to protect delicate hair while still achieving beautiful fullness.

A full set of K-Tip extensions takes approximately 2 to 4 hours. Each strand is placed individually, which takes time but produces the most natural, invisible result. Volume-only sets with fewer strands take less time.

With properly placed keratin bonds, no. The bonds are tiny and sit flat against the head. You can wear your hair up, in a ponytail, parted any way — the attachment points stay hidden. The most common reaction I hear from clients is that people just say their hair looks great.

Care & Maintenance

The key habits are: brush several times daily with a loop bristle brush (no ball tips), braid loosely before bed, sleep on a silk pillowcase, never sleep with wet hair, and keep styling products and conditioner away from the bond area. I go through the complete routine with every client after installation.

Yes to all three. Wash with a gentle shampoo, keeping conditioner away from the roots. Style with heat tools on the lengths (keep heat away from bonds). Coloring is possible but should be done by a professional who is experienced with extensions — I can advise on this during your consultation.

A loop bristle brush without ball tips. The looped bristles glide past bonds without catching. Regular brushes with plastic ball tips catch on keratin bonds and tug them loose — this is the number one cause of premature bond failure.

Every 3 to 6 months, depending on your hair growth rate. At a maintenance appointment, extensions are removed with a professional solution, your natural hair is cleaned, and the extensions are re-installed at the root. Waiting too long risks matting and tension on your natural hair.

Booking & Consultation

Start with a free consultation — book one at book.hairbyanya.com. During the consultation, I assess your hair type, discuss your goals, and create a custom plan. From there we schedule your installation appointment.

I look at your hair in person (or in detailed photos): density, condition, texture, and where it is strongest. We discuss what you want — length, volume, or both — and I explain honestly what is realistic for your hair. You leave with a clear plan and a price.

Yes. Every client gets a consultation first. Extensions are not one-size-fits-all — the number of strands, the placement map, the color blend, and the weight distribution all need to be planned for your specific hair.

Before your appointment, I ask clients to fill out a consultation form at hair.anyamua.com. It covers your hair history, any allergies, and your goals. This helps me prepare so we can make the most of our time together.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the number of strands, the length, and the hair quality. I provide a specific quote during your consultation after assessing your hair. Prices are coming soon to the website — in the meantime, book a free consultation for a custom quote.

The quote includes the extension hair, the installation, the color blending, the cutting and blending after placement, and the aftercare walkthrough. Maintenance appointments are quoted separately.

Currently I do not offer financing, but I am happy to discuss options during your consultation.
